Hello there!
My name is Willem, I am an animator based in Nijmegen in the Netherlands. As an animator I am always busy with visualising stories. Because animation is easy to distribute, I can share my stories with a wide audience.
Animation is a great medium for me to inform people about all kinds of different topics. I can make difficult and heavy loaded themes a little bit lighter by explaining them with animation.
I work a lot with stop motion and 2D frame by frame animation. I also like to combine these techniques with each other. I like to have an ‘analog feeling’ in my animations. Because I like to make work for children, my work can often be recognized by a happy use of color.
In 2017 I graduated from from AKV St. Joost in Breda with a bachelor degree in animation. In 2020 I graduated from the Master Institute of Visual Cultures in Den Bosch with a master degree in animation.

Deze animatie maakte ik in samenwerking met Danielle Riseley tijdens mijn master op het Master Institute of Visual Cultures in Den Bosch. Watermark is een fictief bedrijf en deze animatie was onderdeel van een school opdracht. De opdracht was om een animatie te maken met het gebruik van bestaande stock foto's en videos. Omdat stock beeldmateriaal vaak gezien wordt als saai en zakelijk, wilden wij juist een dynamische en frisse animatie hiermee maken. Door het stock beeldmateriaal te combineren met geanimeerde patronen, hebben wij iconische momenten uit de historie nagebootst.
